SplitHappens is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. You'll be up and running in minutes.

Storage Space

The app requires approximately 50 MB of free storage space. An internet connection is required for receipt scanning.

Download

  1. Open the App Store on your device
  2. Search for "SplitHappens"
  3. Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your password
  4. Wait for the installation to complete

  2. Search for "SplitHappens"
  3. Tap Install
  4. Wait for the installation to complete

First Steps After Installation

After downloading, open the app and you'll be guided through the setup:

  1. Open the app — Tap the SplitHappens icon on your home screen
  2. Create an account — Register with email, Google, or Apple
  3. Set up your profile — Choose your name, avatar, and default currency
  4. Invite friends — Invite friends or add them via QR code
  5. Create your first bill — Get started right away!

Permissions

SplitHappens will ask for certain permissions when you first use specific features. All permissions are optional but enhance the user experience:

Change Permissions Later

You can adjust permissions at any time in your smartphone's system settings:

  • iOS: Settings > SplitHappens
  • Android: Settings > Apps > SplitHappens > Permissions

Your data matters to us. SplitHappens is fully GDPR compliant:

  • Your data is stored on European servers
  • All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)
  • You can delete your account and all data at any time
  • We never sell data to third parties

Trouble Installing?

If the installation doesn't work, check the following:

  • Enough storage space? — The app requires at least 50 MB
  • Internet connection active? — WiFi or mobile data must be enabled
  • Operating system up to date? — Check if an update is available
  • App Store / Play Store working? — Try installing a different app
